Find out how many people attended it last time, and how successful the overall event was. That should allow you to anticipate how much your employees will benefit from attending the event.

Go through the list of speakers at the event

Check out the list of speakers, who would be attending the event this year. If those speakers are popular entrepreneurs themselves, then you can expect your employees to return with some good tips and tricks about digital marketing in their notebooks. However, if the list is populated only by names of industry experts, then you might want to think twice before sending your employees there. Industry experts are excellent at analyzing how the industry is moving forward and making predictions on the basis of their observations. But when it comes to formulating new and effective digital marketing ideas and strategies, these people are not half as capable as actual entrepreneurs. This is because the latter are used to developing and using alternative strategies on a regular basis to enhance their own campaigns.

If you have to dig deep into company funds just to get some untested ideas, it certainly may not be worth the risk after all.
